The Lounge

I had not visited this lounge in the 8 years I have been flying internationally out of LAX. Call it elitism, contempt, condescension, or I just didn't want to leave the utter luxury of the first class lounge (maybe it was all 4 in degrees). Well, I have previously been missing out on a really decent food service. (In some ways the variety challenges the sit down service in first).

So, I sauntered on over on one my trips through LAX to give it gander. The receptionists were supremely nice and inviting. A very welcoming atmosphere.

Dining

I suppose I could just call this eating, but there is one helluva lot of food here, and quite a variety that isn't evident in the other experience. I am drawn to this at times, and I like it. I may come back over on my next trip if I am peckish but not wanting a full dinner.

Ok, one thing, the bar, it is not even close to the level of the one in first, but it is pretty well stocked. So you can get your prosecco and mixed drink on until you are denied boarding.

Showering

I most definitely did not take the time to shower in this lounge. They have them, I am sure they are nice, but they are not first class showers like in the other lounge.

Work area, general seating Why is not everyone here with drinks? Stupid cozy in the winter when it's on, just not in use today Long long hall of seats If you want to eat and work and sit and um... yeah, more places This looks amazing, and make my own portion size The salads, and honestly... why??? I'm hungry just looking at this as I make my post Mmm, I like being able to serve myself on soda actually It's a pretty bar, but the 'top shelf' is kinda medium. Drinks will do the job here Prosecco, but lots of it, if you're like from Miami or something

Summary

Great food, and if you don't have access to the first class lounge, this is still better than AA's Flagship Lounge, except maybe for the alcohol. The food, though, I cannot stress that enough.
