The Lounge

So, I knew the lounge existed, but I had primarily been planning for international first class lounges, and this one just happened to be on my path because I wanted to see Tasmania, and my round trip to Auckland brought me back here.

I spent a good amount of time in it, except for the couple hours my right side of my face was actually falling off due to a redback spider bite that I had treated in the airport clinic (yes, for real, not exhagerating. Redbacks suck). Having now been to every single domestic business except Perth, I can say with a good degree of certainity this is the best one.

Dining Area

Basically, while there are dedicated dining areas, I think the entire place is a dining area in some fashion, definitely low key.

General Area

The rest of the lounge is very open, clean, bright, and well, kept up (as in it feels new). The seats along the windows fill up fast and are camped in for hours.

Shower Facilities

There is a bank of showers. I was so busy with the doctor and had only flown in from Auckland, that I didn't need them for this trip.

The old buffet. Soup, cold foods, bread, kinda standard and not that much diversity Salads Couple of hot food items. It was enough, but it did feel limited Hand made and served speciality dishes that change over days Seating near the entrance of the lounge, the least desirable in my opinion Business center is also right by the entrance, and not a bad layout for some work The bar, be prepared to wait a little bit, the line was always there Far end of the lounge with those covetted window seats

Summary

Pretty nice, and comfortable domestic lounge. Not quite international pampering level, but it was a very good experience for my 6 hour layover.

Tip: First thing hit those window seats and drop your bag if there is an open one. Then get a drink.
