Marriott Sky City, Hong Kong
A hotel post 7 years in the making. That is how long I have been coming to this Marriott in Skycity and had not finished all the shots required to be what I consider a complete blog post.I stay here every overnight connection I have at Hong Kong International, and that's been quite a few since 2019.
Arrival
Depending on my status level, I have had to wait for the dedicated hotel bus, or had a private car arranged (Ambassador level). It's on the airport island, and rather close to the main terminal, just the roads are insanely laid out and it's not walkable or a quick drive. The Room
Ah, the room, every single time here I have been upgraded to a suite. A very nice suite, with excellent space, and a great bathroom, plus a guest bathroom.

Dining and Drinking
Well, this is a transitory hotel, a convention hotel, an airport crew hotel, many things. It has good food options for sure. Man Ho (no comments from my ex-girlfriends on this one), a very upscale Chinese restaurant. SkyCity Bistro, which is the breakfast buffet and international food. Velocity Bar & Grill, so popular, even locals come here, and when you get to the hotel you'll see what a big deal that actually is on transportation needs. The Lounge, which is the lobby bar. And Java+, which is coffee, sandwiches, pretty standard expected offering.Executive Lounge
A massive, full service, well appointed, good drink and food, executive lounge.Hotel Other Things
The other things that I usually forgot to shoot (actually I took pictures years ago and my hard drive died. I lost so much then). The gym, the pool I couldn't take pics of, the spa, outside.
Lots of suites on the top 2 floors
Chinese food and English puns, can it get better?
There is an insane amount of seating
And a 20 page menu
SkyCity, where the breakfast is served, and lunch and dinner
When in Asia, noodles
So kinda the massive standard crazy buffet
Or is it standard?
Noodles, noodles, noodles
The Lounge, lobby bar. I have had one drink here I think
The sportsish bar, popular with the younger crowd
booth and open seating
The bar, where I snuck down one night between meetings for food
The food menu at Velocity, that's Hong Kong dollars
The high end stuff, on display, I guess Martell paid for that
Mmmm, wings, I mean, it's me, of course"
The coffee place, just not my speed
My home away from home"
Login free internet searches. What could go wrong?
Long lounge, but there are times when seating was limited due to crowds
Breakfast up here too
I think TWG tea is based in Hong Kong from all the stores I have seen
Nice layout, and with 3 employees working it, always presentable
The view from the lounge looking out over the ocean
Dinner service also (which is why I haven't been to Man Ho yet)
Sammies!
Deserts
Ok... good selection of booze
You can sit outside the lounge, but I think it's mainly for smoking"
Big gym, and empty at 2am
More strength than cardio, which is great and rare
The spa, for that massage or skin treatment, which I probably need
Pretty big hotel placed tightly in the area, so hard to get a good far off shot
Summary
An exceptionally competent hotel with a luxury slant, and all the amenities that a high status traveler can expect. If you are staying for any decent amount of time, the lounge is a must have. Do what it takes to get it.If it was easier to get to the train, I would say this is a perfect spot for visiting the city for a few days too, but that can be a bit onerous at times and the train stops at midnight.
