Sheraton, Zagreb

While traipsing through more of Europe I hadn't visited, I was making a plan to do a car/train ride from Croatia to the other Balkan states. Well, seems trains are pretty messed up, and renting a car was a challenging prospect as I wanted to do a one way down to Athens. Nobody would allow that. Therefore, I ended up basically only in Zagreb!

Regardless, I needed a place to stay to explore the city, and the Sheraton was well placed with a very attractive rate. Also, having a Sheraton Club was a huge advantage.

Arrival

I flew into Zagreb International and arranged a very expensive private car from the airport to the hotel on the way in, I just got a regular cab on the way back but realized I had left my phone in the hotel room when almost back at the airport, had a minor heart attack and 40 minutes in delays back and forth, but regardless, it's a pretty easy drive into the hotel.

I was able then to get upgraded to a classic suite for the length of my stay, which is a nice room, close to elevator, but I could not hear them, and large.

The Room

The classic suite, not a bad upgrade to be graced with.

Dining and Drinking

Tomassino is the main dining spot with casual breakfast and fine dining for dinner, and then we have &More which has pastries and the most important feature, the bar.

Sheraton Club

Well, the Sheraton executive lounges are called the Sheraton Club. It's very similar to Hilton's and Marriott's lounges (which are in so so many of my posts). Somewhat staffed and serviced, but decently set out with things so it doesn't need constant attention from the hotel staff.

Hotel Amenities

A gym and a pool (the pool I could not get pics, privacy things and 3rd party company). The gym is good though, at least for my tastes.
In Croatian? Interesting Biggest room on the floor Lovely manager gifts Turndown service, rare! I mean, I get turneddown a lot but in a room hasn't been common Morning side Tomassino area Tomassino seating Breakfast buffet pics which are a standard of the blog Halal meats, not expected Rather good sized buffet for sure Tomassino custom eggs menu Decent eggs benedict Tomassino nighttime steak menu The nighttime side of the restaurant Bread and something from the chef, but I'm just too picky Salad and flatbread The filet which was incredible &More, the hotel bar Pleasant bar seating &More menu selection A white russian, which I am not &More bakery goods Reflective doors for the club entrance, what secrets are inside? Well, those secrets are mainly a lot of seats, snacks and beverages And wine at dinner time With better snacks for the evening As with a lot of hotels in Europe, the gym is managed by another company But has a lot of weight training and not overly cardio, finally someplace that gets me Entrance to the lobby Random book storage in the hotel

Summary

There was a lot of self-deprecating downplaying by the staff, on what is easily #4 of the best hotels in the city. Fantastic lounge, great food. Mind blowing dinner restaurant.

Breakfast was a Bonvoy choice, not a lounge benefit, so upgrading to a lounge room depends if you want to spend quality time there and the free wine and evening snacks.
