JW Marriott Bucharest

So, Rob was in the area delivering some aid to a neighboring country and I needed a place to prepare for the journey and to return to afterwards. The JW Marriott in Bucharest was a great spot that accommodated that, and well, it's a JW, and I have a thing for this brand.

Arrival

Well, since it was a bit crazy at first trying to understand the public transport in Bucharest, I just opted for a car organized by the hotel.
Yeah, this was a long way from the airport

The Room

The best upgrade I could garner was a Grand Superior Room, which is a pretty large king room with a sofa living area, *almost* a Junior Suite.

Dining

Some JWs have little dining, some have a crazy amount. This one is gearing towards the crazy end. Several eating and drinking spots for almost any mood:

Executive Lounge

Ahh, the JW Executive Lounge. My favorite spot usually in a JW (Unless I get a crazy room upgrade). This one is a really good one and very popular with guys showing off to their dates.

Property Amenities

Of course, there is a gym, plus a casino and a mall in the hotel. Quite the swank affair overall.
Well, not the smallest, not the biggest Some nice welcome gifts The Aromatherapy, no, sorry, the new scents still haven't grown on me If you really want to use the minibar, here are the prices Daily notes and thank yous The meats place" The dining and grill area JW Steakhouse Bar JW Steakhouse menu portion, the steaks The JW Steakhouse wines menu, well, some of them Yes, I had the burger, it was lunchtime after all The Vienna lounge seating area The patisserie, but I don't think this was the bakery mentioned Cucina, where to get your Italian on Some meats and fungi, quite pleasant Yep, the Cucina Menu, antipasto, which I am not anti, but ok Menu at Cucina, for pizzas Now this says the JW Garden, but it's a part of the steak menu" And drinks at the 'garden'" Olea, outdoors, nobody was around, I could helped myself Very Mediterranean seating Pavilion is my kinda bar, empty and dark Yum, the martinis here were great Live music nightly Enter, if you can. Actually unusual to see this Lots of higher end shops The video showing snips of all the JWs in the world

Summary

This is the fancy hotel in town, and everyone wants to be here to be seen and to show off they can afford it. The steakhouse is great, but pricey. The mall is interesting with high end shops including Cuban cigars.

Do you want the lounge? I mean, I liked it a lot, but it's not a super advantageous one for other amenities but free food and drinks. Yeah, go ahead and get it here.
