Hilton Minneapolis

At times when I'm tied down at home, due to work, money, ridiculously high fuel prices... opt for something interesting locally, or just someplace that's full service where I haven't stayed before.

I'm pretty sure that's what lead me to book the Hilton Minneapolis for a weekend.

Arrival

I drove up interstate 35 to downtown, it's a rather quick arrival off the downtown exit, and parked. Into the hotel which has easy access from the massive garage underneath or the skyway too. I was upgraded to a Junior Suite, which I'll take.

The Room

A pretty decent junior suite, corner room, nice sofa and chairs in the living portion, plus a spot to make drinks (the ice machine is quite a haul away). This was an acceptable and nice upgrade to receive these days.

Dining

There is a regular dining spot, and the big big bar, plus a coffee shop with tons of snacks too, they are all variations of Ten 01, which is also the address of the hotel. Then there is the Clubhouse Social in the Topgolf area, which is another bar you can enjoy it seems. I took some pictures but didn't stay.

Amenities and Space

Well, a good gym, and an amazing in the center of a downtown swimming pool! It's actually great. Plus, a sauna.

Well, 2nd biggest room on the floor Hey, you know, it's my time off baby This bar is very busy at night Lots of seating at the bar and the restaurant The breakfast menu minus the buffet at Ten 01 Yep, you have to suffer the breakfast buffet and all the food Fairly typical items you would see in a good buffet, basically Europe maybe even Asia level Non soggy French toast storage Something new to me, a big pile of different hot sauces The dinner menu at Ten 01 That burger was amazing And since 1300 calories for dinner wasn't enough on its own... Ten 01 Cafe, the coffee shop Snacktastic Topgolf entrance What? Cardio? Shocking! Ahh, resistance machines And weights, a good gym Just look at this pool! It is Minnesota, saunas are a thing I seriously should be paid by Hilton for this shot Where everyone waits for cabs, ubers, convention vans, etc.

Summary

The large full service convention hotel. Pretty massive, tons of rooms. No executive lounge (ugh Hilton...). Great pool, actually very surprising pool. Location decent in the city when the skyway is open. Very close to Nicolett Mall dining and drinking also.
