Le Meridien, Philadelphia - Ghost Post
Having worked a few decades ago in Philly, and having drinks at this hotel back then, when in town again I felt it was a goal to stay at it. Since I visited there, it has rebranded to a much lower level of service hotel, so here you are, the previously much nicer hotel, the Le Meridien.A repurposed YMCA from 1912, the exterior maintains the original look. The main floor has old school elements such as the stone fireplaces. The ballroom, which as you know I basically stopped visiting because nobody seemed to care, apparently is still in the same design as when built.
Arrival
I took the train from the airport to the 30th street station, then the subway from there to downtown. It was an easy walk at that point to the hotel (ok, 4 blocks, and not always level, so I am kind of lying but also I am used to this). The last bit at the steps out front? Forget that. I was able to garner a suite, while an accessible one, the only big difference is the roll in shower. The rest of the room was just a suite and very nice.

Dining
Amuze is the bar and restaurant here, a nicer, and fancier, affair than many hotels usually have, but it is expected at a Le Meridien and they do a good job.Amenities
A pretty decent gym, but that's it. A very compressed city affair hotel. Strangely no pool for a former YMCA.

Summary
I felt it was a nice hotel, but not a top end one. The downgrade to a Courtyard property is really a slap at the property, and farther than it deserves to downgrade.Well, anyway I guess that point is kind of moot as the this is now a ghost post of a property no longer in existence.
