W Hotel Dallas

I was in Dallas for a meeting of my drinking group that has a flying problem, and if anyone follows me, you know I can go to a place for 6 days and stay in 3 different hotels, just to experience and blog them. One I had stayed at before, and I mean before I was doing this, was the W Hotel Victory, but I had zero pictures from it.

That seemed like a great opportunity to fill in that gap in my portfolio.

Arrival

I took the DART light rail system from another hotel I was at to 2 blocks from the W. It was then an uphill walk with my 3 bags to the hotel, but it was all sidewalks so not too bad. Placed right by the hockey and basketball place sponsored by American Airlines, it's one of the party districts in town.

The Room

So I had prearranged the Wow, or what's now called the W suite. It's the 2nd largest suite in the hotel. It's pretty freaking big, and at the very end of the hall, so not much fellow guest noise at all. It does directly face the entrance to American Airlines stadium which can be a challenge during games.

Dining

There is the Living Room bar, which was big, with indoor/outdoor options, and Villa Azure, which wasn't blue at all, but is the place to eat.

Amenities and Exterior

A high up outdoor pool, a spa, a very large gym. Very full featured property.
It's really the last two rooms on the upper right combined. Gifts and requests from Whatever Whenever desk. I ask for a super cheap framed photo of the city at night when I stay at a new W and they usually go over the top The Living Room, which is always a solid bar The Living Room Menu My drink while waiting for time to meet up with friends" The bar inside seating A private arrangeable side room for your little soiree I'm Rob, I eat wings, they were good. Very good Villa Azure, normal dining with good food Well, a bar here too Partial menu for Villa Azure Pretty large space, and enough to keep you away from the 7am over drinkers All the wine, yum Rob's breakfast, which was very good Pretty good sized pool, but at 37 degrees (what is wrong with you Texas??) not something I was going to dive into Lots of weights Interesting other area focused machines, very nice Yep, lots of card too This almost became the main shot for the post This is the outside seating for the Living Room

Summary

While a little older, it was still a nice property. The room was gratuitously huge. As a W, it had a party vibe, but not a full-on party, tad subdued. Could have been the weather too, unusually cold for Dallas.

There are little benefits additional to your stay besides the wow factor of getting a suite, which sometimes, is all that is needed. I do it because I just like the immense uncluttered space (if you see my office, you'll completely understand).
