West End Tapesty, DC

So, after doing many favors and fixing cars and other crazy things, my Editrix (who worked at a Hilton for a while), gifted me a room in DC. Content and drinking rich environment that it is.

What did that mean? Well.... I didn't get a choice of the room nor an upgrade. I think I was being given a lesson in humility? But let me say, I have the most amazing humility, nobody's humility is as good as mine, never have you see such humility.

Arrival

Not knowing the state of the metro stations "kinda" close the property in the Dupont Circle/Farragut areas, I opted for a cab from Washington National Airport. Much better, sometimes I do get sick of pushing my bags everywhere and up and down stairs even.

So while I arrive in what looks like it would be a classic residential city area, it's actually mostly hotels and lots of dining. The hotel itself blends into the street nicely.

Like I said, not eligible for upgrade, nor food credit. Well, I mean I did save $200 a day on the room rate so I can't complain too much can I?

2 Queen Beds room

Well, the room wasn't bad actually. Larger than I expected, with room for all my bags and me, and I could hide them in the well sized closet.

Dining

The dining, and well, the bar x2 is Castas. They are a pretty hot spot, excellent spicy Cuban food, and lots of Cuban (rum) inspired drinks. They play with the politics too.

Amenities and Space

Well, I mean, there is a mini mart, but that's it. No gym, no pool.
Almost like a condo building waiting area? Not the biggest, not the smallest Castas, the place for Cuban Breakfast menu Delicious enchiladas for breakfast Dinner menu The calmer bar inside The more accurate Cuban experience outside And I have no idea where you smoke these here

Summary

Hey, it's inexpensive, close to a lot, has amazing food, and was actually a pretty darn quiet place to stay. Can't really complain. The price for me was right, and the normal prices seem pretty good too.
