The Lounge
After a long trip around central Europe, it was time to leave and my flight was out of Milan, which gave me access to the Sala Montale lounge in the international terminal of the Milan airport. The airport is really poorly laid out though, and to enter, you have to walk all the way to the end to check into an airline from the USA, then back to the other side to go through security then all the way back to the end directly above where you started to reach the international portion. No moving walkways to speak of either. When I finally did arrive, well, it's a good lounge. Very comfortable, clean, and up-to-date.
Snacks
A buffet and drinks (oh the drinks) are available at will. Now I noticed the food is very similar to the other lounge here in the domestic side, the Monteverdi Lounge. Ok, it seemed identical, but the presentation here is so much nicer.
The main seating is all like this, and yes, it's that dark, it's 6am because I have a super early flight
In most lounges, this wouldn't have an open seat
Various sections of seating around the club
In different areas. They feel separate from each other. This is where I was sitting
The family/prayer room, yep, different that USA isn't it?
And if you still are one who smokes, here you go
If you want to sleep, or just have less noise, this is the room for you
The club is really big. The yellow area is VIP, which I don't know yet what that takes to be in there (probably money)
Pastries in a very elegant layout
Sandwiches and quiche, the simple ham and cheese is actually really good, and I'm not a pork guy
For you health nuts, or just those who don't want to get fat or get cancer
Yep, beer at 6am
EU is more coffee than tea, unlike England and Asia which is the opposite
If only it wasn't a weekday and I didn't have to work in a few hours on the flight
So instead, lots of Coke Zero for Rob
